Today was a big day… a day that everyone involved in our green journey can be proud of… it was the launch of the Carbon Disclosure Project for the FTSE 350 and we were placed in the Leadership Index… second year in a row… but this year we had to show what were doing to mitigate our risk and how we were taking advantage of opportunities provided by climate change… so I sat in the presentation this morning beaming with delight… the speakers were outstanding – the Secretary of State for the Environment in the UK and the Chairman of one of the world’s largest insurance companies, Aviva…. ultimately the messages were clearly – environmental sustainability needs to be embedded in the organisation, it needs to colour decision-making processes and regulation is going to hope and mandatory reporting is going to be the order of the day….
